Powerful men are advised not to use violence
For violence has a habit of turning on itself
Thorns and weeds grow where armies tread
Lean years follow a great war
A general is well advised
To achieve nothing more than his orders
To not take advantage of his victory
Nor to glory, boast and take pride
To do what is dictated by necessity
Rather than by choice
For even the strongest force will weaken over time
And then its violence will return and kill it
