The Tao flows in and subsides
Creating and destroying
Having created everything
It calls none of it its own
It feeds and clothes them all
Yet is not their Lord
It is always without desire
It is of no importance
Yet, because of this
Its greatness is assured
When everything returns to it
No creature will meet a god
The wise man, therefore, while alive
Will never make a show of being great
And that is how greatness is achieved
