Texts: Moonology: Working with the Magic of Lunar Cycles, Yasmin Boland

The moon is the great luminary of the night sky. It is very different from the sun as it waxes and wanes. It is mysterious, seen in the daytime sky and at times vanishing from the night sky altogether, however, with careful attention the waxing and waning cycle is highly predictable. Our ancestors believed the new moon, a sliver of silver in the night sky, signaled the beginning of a new monthly period because from one to the new moon to the next was almost thirty days.

Ancient traditions carefully observed the moon phases, as well as the sun's path through the year and made adept calculations to reconcile their lunar and solar calendars.  Many of the worlds megalithic monuments are aligned with the phases of the moon and the seasonal paths of the sun.

The Lunar Cycle workshop will offer an in-depth look at the phases of the moon and the types of personal work that corresponds to each. It will also show links between ancient wisdom and modern practices so that we may enrich our lives and move into harmony with the natural world.
